12/02/2009 · I have a new insignia 500w receiver, which has the pre-out labeled SUBWOOFER. It is a single cable hook-up. But the sub I just bought is a powered yamaha which is about 5 years old and has speaker wires used to hook it up. My receiver doesnt have a speaker wire input for the sub, just the pre-out single cable thing.
